Social and Cognitive Robotics

Social robotics research focuses on building robots that engage effectively with humans in social and assistive contexts. By integrating AI, linguistics, and psychology, these robots interpret facial expressions, gestures, and tone to adapt their interactions. Example applications include elderly care, where robots provide companionship, and education, where they act as interactive learning aids. Our research focuses on human-centred designs that address emotional and cultural nuances in diverse environments.
